Richard C. Collins is a Board certified Attorney in Administrative Law who specializes in a practice that caters to the legal needs of licensed professionals and organizations. Our primary emphasis is in the area of health care providers license defense that includes but is not limited to the following areas: (a) Physicians (both MDs and DOs), (b) Nurses (both RNs and LVNs), (c) Physician Assistant (PAs), (d) Acupuncturists, (e) Pharmacist (Pharm.D.), (f) Pharmacist Assistants (CPhT), (g) Psychologist and other health care professions.
Our legal services are for health care professionals of all kinds seeking a Texas license, defending their licenses in agency disciplinary proceedings, and addressing a wide range of contractual and regulatory issues. Our firm is particularly versed in handling alcohol, drug, and chemical dependency related professional misconduct cases as well as the defense of criminal charges which may be attendant to addiction or impairment. We are located in downtown Austin –– close to the Texas Capital, The Texas Supreme Court, The Texas Court of Appeals, The Travis County District and County Courthouses, TheFederal District Courthouse, and The State Office of Administrative Hearings.
Mr. Collins has also represented real estate brokers, salespersons and inspectors before the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) in contested disciplinary proceedings and license disapproval hearings. Furthermore, Mr. Collins has practiced before the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy (TSBPA) in defending persons accused of violating the Public Accountancy Act; the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) regarding electrician and air conditioner license disciplinary proceedings and license disapproval actions; Texas Board of Plumbing Examiners (TSBPE) in representing persons accused of violating the Texas Plumbing License Law and the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) regarding representation of persons claiming unemployment benefits.
